International Jewellery Fair Sydney Picup Media
New call-to-action

After consecutive and successful shows internationally, Picup Media returned home to Sydney in August for the International Jewellery Fair (IJF). IJF was where Picup Media for the very first time showcased GemLightbox, and their participation in 2018 secured the Picup Media as a powerhouse brand in the Australian jewelry industry.

Picup Media literally “launched off” from their last year’s location at the LaunchPad section, where new jewelry businesses and exhibitors could showcase their products. In the 2018 edition, Picup Media would be located at one of the most busiest place at the fair, next to Nationwide Jewellers, Australia’s largest jewelry buying group.

Being located next to the Nationwide Jewellers maximised the exposure of Picup Media and GemLightbox. A good location was extremely important it was the perfect opportunity to have a soft launch of the GemLightbox Turntable.

Prior to leaving their Hong Kong office, Picup Media’s research and development team worked tirelessly to perfect the GemLightbox Turntable. The challenge to was combine both software and hardware to be compatible on both Android and iOS operating systems, and to create a seamless user experience. The team pulled through and perfected the solution, just in time for IJF.

The GemLightbox Turntable would be ready for display at the Picup Media’s booth and Picup Media was very confident that free 360-degree jewelry photography would an instant winner, given their previous success with free jewelry photography. There was no other solution in the market that could provide immediate results with little financial or time commitment. Picup Media also secured multiple sessions for a daily 3-minute pitch. The 3-minute pitch is a new concept where nominees would have 3 minutes to “pitch” their latest product and talk about its features and benefits to a dedicated audience.

As predicted, free 360-degree jewelry photography was an instant hit with dozens of jewelers flocking to witness the world’s first smartphone jewelry turntable, and to capture a 360 video of their jewelry. The familiar vibes of IJF warmed the hearts of the Picup Media team. The Australian market was very welcoming and supportive and it was great to be back where it all started. Many original customers visited the Picup Media booth, bringing with them their families and other members of the jewelry community.

Picup Media could feel the difference between IJF and other international shows. They could form deeper relationships inside of the Australian jewelry community. Overall, IJF 2018 was an amazing experience for Picup Media with the GemLightbox Turntable successfully launched and ready for dispatch. Picup Media now had their eyes set on the next show, being the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair September, which will be their biggest to date.
