Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2018
Following the success of GemLightbox at the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair in September 2017, Picup Media returned back to Hong Kong in 2018 for the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show. The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is an annual jewelry event held in March and is organised by the government body, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
Although smaller than the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair in September, the Hong Kong International Show is not to be looked down upon. In the 2018 edition, there were a whopping 2,585 exhibitors covering categories such as fine jewelry, antique jewelry, watches and clocks, and jewelry tools and equipment, attracting 52,000 reported buyers.
The 2018 edition is the first edition which Picup Media exhibited, and coincidentally the first edition where the Hong Kong International Jewelry Show premiered their new zone, IT Solutions for Jewellery. The IT Solutions for Jewellery zone was created to “showcase the latest technology and solutions for inventory management, design, production, and e-commerce”.
Picup Media strongly felt that this zone was the perfect category for the products and services they provided and were extremely excited to be at the forefront of the jewelry technology and innovation. Exhibiting at the IT Solutions for Jewellery zone gave Picup Media the opportunity to learn more about the growings needs of the jeweler in a digital world, as well to provide a sneak peek of the revolutionary GemLightbox Turntable.
The GemLightbox Turntable was created in response to the growing needs of consumers for high-quality jewelry product videos on e-commerce and social media platforms. Still images weren’t simply enough – statistics show that 80% of all online traffic will be video by 2021. Continuing on from the key values of simplicity and accessibility, the GemLightbox Turntable allows anyone with a smartphone to capture perfect 360-degree jewelry videos in a tap of a button.
At the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, very few jewelers had the rare opportunity to witness a prototype of the GemLightbox Turntable in action. For those who were lucky enough to witness it, were deeply amazed and provided valuable feedback to help bring the GemLightbox Turntable to where it is today. Picup Media is scheduled to return to the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show in 2019.
